OCTG Pipes

OCTG (Oil country tubular goods) consists of drill pipes and casing & tubing or we can say consists of well consumables for oil and gas.

Casing is placed in the well and cemented, so as to keep the hole from sloughing in while carrying out drilling or producing. Tubing is a pipe through which oil and gas flow out to the surface. Tubing is inserted in the well and can be removed after workover or completion of the operation.

To connect two joints of tubing or casing couplings are used. It is just like a short length of pipes duly painted on external surface as per the color codes to define grades. Couplings are manufactured according to API 5CT and 5B specification.
