Cold
finishing is
being done either
by cold pilgering
or by cold drawing.
In either case,
once the final
size is achieved,
these tubes
are solution
annealed, machine
straightened,
pickled and
passivated before
despatch. The
tubes undergo
thorough inspection
for dimensional
tolerances,
and tested hydraulically
and mechanically
according to
specifications.
Additional Non
Destructive
tests (N.D.T.)
such as eddy
current testing,
ultrasonic testing
and electromagnetic
inspection (E.M.I),
corrosion testing
micro structural
examination,
grain size control
etc. are carried
out if required
by agreement
with buyer.

are using PLUG MILL technology
to manufacture large size
Seamless Pipes of diameter
upto 14" and wall thickness
40 mm. PLUG MILL Process is
a proven process for
manufacturing of higher diameter
Seamless Pipes using a round
billet heating up to the plastic
stage of steel and piercing in
across roll piercer. Further
elongation through a plug mill
in which the thick wall hot
hollow will be rolled through
a pair of top and bottom roll
with a plug inside the hollow
to give better internal surface
finish and to control the ID.
World Class Reelers are used to imporve
the wall thickness circumferentially, to achieve close tolerance on the Wall Thickness.
As the OD and the ID are controlled by external & internal tooling during hot rolling
in Plug Mill and Reller, the pipe will have close tolerance, to cater to the requirements
of OCTG and other applications.
